Here’s a great recipe to make Weetabix cake.

Here’s a great and tasty recipe you can bake up with your kids on a rainy or cold day. We’re sure all the family will love this Weetabix cake. With lots of juicy sultanas and mixed spices, you can turn this breakfast cereal into a nice treat. It’s simple and quick to make and goes very nicely with a scoop of you’re favorite ice cream.

Serves: 6 slices

Ingredients for Weetabix cakes

 

  • 2 Weetabix
  • 110g sultanas
  • 150ml milk
  • 150ml water
  • 110g self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spice
  • 15g sugar (or sweetener)
  • 1 egg, beaten

You can use any other dried fruit in place of the sultanas.

 

How to make Weetabix cakes.

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C Fan/Gas Mark 4.
  2. Put the Weetabix and sultanas in a bowl. Pour the milk and water over the top and leave to soak up all the liquid.
  3. Stir in the flour, mixed spice, sugar and beaten egg.
  4. Spoon the mixture into a 450g lined loaf tin and bake in the preheated oven for 1¼ hours, until cooked.
  5. Cool on a wire rack before serving then cut into 12 slices.
