Keep your kids active at Junior parkrun
Getting your kids active early in life is good for them (and potentially good for you if it tires them out). Junior parkrun is a great way to help your child keep fit, healthy and socialise with other children in the local area.
The Junior parkrun events are 2km events for children aged between 4 and 14 years. Best of all they’re FREE. Children can walk, jog or run the course (but let’s be honest kids love running!). At the end of the course, they get a get a time. You don’t need to book a place at a run just show up on the day.
They are held around open space areas in the UK. They start at 9am every Sunday and junior parkruns are open to all, free, and they are safe and easy to take part in. If you are not a junior you can go along to one of the 5km weekly Saturday parkrun events instead.
To get a time for the run you need to register with parkrun on their website. Then you can print off your child’s barcode, to be scanned at the end of the run. You can register your child with parkrun here.
